Canoeing

Canoeing at Skylake Yosemite Camp happens right off our private waterfront on Bass Lake, a five-mile warm-water lake in the Sierra Nevada near Yosemite. Canoe outings depart daily, supervised by waterfront staff, and campers of all experience levels can sign up — no paddling background needed.

As classic as summer camp itself! Canoe outings head to nearby coves for marshmallow roasts by the lake's shore. The canoes also play an active role in our width- and length-of-the-lake swims, escorting swimmers across the water, and they provide the excitement for our length-of-the-lake canoe race — one of the summer's most anticipated waterfront events.

Campers wanting a bigger adventure can sign up for the Rec Point Canoe Camping Trip, an overnight outing where they paddle to a lakeside campsite, cook dinner outdoors, and sleep under the Sierra stars.
