Swim Call/Free Swim

Swim call is Skylake Yosemite Camp's nearly-daily supervised free swim off our private docks on Bass Lake. All age groups get regular time to swim, jump, float, and relax in genuinely warm mountain-lake water — a rarity in the Sierra — with waterfront staff supervising every swim.

The docks are one of the most beloved hangouts at camp. The gentle sway of the docks, the perfect temperature of the lake, being surrounded by pine trees and mountains all around, under a big blue sky — it all provides the backdrop dreams are made of! Kids relax in the warm California sun and take dips in the lake between activities.

Beyond casual swimming, the docks host organized games such as water polo and the fun and messy tradition of greased watermelon. Swim call is one of the many traditions at Skylake — unstructured in the best way, and a daily chance for campers to unwind with friends.

Swimmers can also build skills in swim instruction, try log rolling, or join water games. See all water activities.
