Kayaking

Kayaking at Skylake Yosemite Camp gives campers their own boat and a five-mile warm-water lake to explore. Paddling out from our private waterfront on Bass Lake, staff-supervised kayak groups explore the cove and nearby spots such as Pine Point and Rocky Point — no prior kayaking experience required.

Kayaks are a great form of transportation for young explorers. Once at the nearby points, campers enjoy making s'mores, swimming, and beach time while supervised by staff members. Back at the waterfront, kayak games bring extra excitement: obstacle courses, kayak basketball, and kayak water polo turn boat-handling practice into pure play.

Because Bass Lake's water is warm all summer — unusual for a Sierra mountain lake — kayaking at Skylake is comfortable from the first week of camp to the last, and campers can choose it as often as they like within our camper-choice activity program.
