Ga-ga Pit

Ga-ga at Skylake Yosemite Camp is a fast-paced, gentler cousin of dodgeball, played inside a large octagonal pit where the ball stays low and everyone stays in the action. The latest addition to Skylake's sports program has been a huge success — and it needs no experience at all to join.

Players slap the ball with an open hand, trying to tag opponents below the knee while dodging and jumping; get hit and you're out until the next round, which is never more than a couple of minutes away. Rounds are quick, rules are simple, and the pit refills instantly with challengers.

The 7-to-11-year-old boys especially find this dusty game a treat above anything else at camp — and girls don't shy away either, as the arena is a fun, interactive spot for everyone to play and get a little dirty. It's the definition of easy-entry, all-comers camp fun.

Campers with energy to burn also head to sports, sand volleyball, and basketball. See all land activities.
