Jeff Portnoy
is co-owner and Director of Skylake. A graduate of U.C. Berkeley and University
of Santa Clara Law School, Jeff has been the Director of Skylake since 1995. Jeff
is married to his Lowell High School sweetheart, Bonnie. They have two grown
daughters, Adrienne and Jessica, both of whom attended Skylake as campers for
9 years, followed by numerous staff positions. Jeff also attended the California

Vernon Tallmon
is Assistant Director. A graduate of San Jose State with a BA in Industrial
Arts, Vernon has been a High School teacher in the Mariposa County Unified
School District for over 20 years. Vernon also has over 20 years of staff
experience with Skylake. He met his wife Jodi at Skylake when he was Boy's
Head Counselor and she was a kitchen assistant and together they have three sons.

Natalie Monsalve
is the year-around Camp Registrar and Office Manager at Bass Lake. She has
been with Skylake for three years. Occasionally in the winter, the snow is
too deep at camp for her to come to work, but for the most part, she's there
to answer your questions. Natalie can be reached directly at

Skylake annually employs 56 camp counselors, 6 administrative staff, 3 cooks,
12 kitchen assistants, 2 housekeepers, and a nurse on-site 24 hours a day. All
of the counselors must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a four
year university and have current certifications in first aid and CPR. Almost
every staff member also has a full life guard certification. Counselors are
not permitted to have visible tattoos or body-piercing (except for ears).
