Family summer camp without the hassles of camping Family summer camp weekends or a week-long family summer vacation at Skylake on Bass Lake near Yosemite National Park in the California Sierras offers a fun and friendly family camping experience without the usual hassles. We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, a large private dock and rustic but comfortable screen-house cabins for each family. Large shower houses and bathroom facilities are close to each family cabin. Our large lodge with dining hall and recreation room provides the social center for family camp.   Family camp activities and Yosemite nearby Skylake camp staff directs horseback riding, camp crafts, water skiing, and nightly campfires. Every family member receives a free horseback ride. Water skiing is $100 per hour, including boat, gas, driver, and equipment. There are plenty of camp activities your family will enjoy on your own, including tennis and sand volleyball among others. The South Gate of Yosemite is located 15 miles from camp and is convenient for an easy day trip. The family camp program includes a series of 3-night weekend sessions and one 1-week session in August. The sessions run from late May until mid-June and startup again in late August and run through late September. There is no family camp from mid-June through mid-August because our children's summer camp is in session during that time. All paid campers receive one free horseback ride. Most family camp weekend sessions commence Thursday night and conclude Sunday after lunch. * Memorial & Labor Day sessions commence Friday night and conclude Monday after lunch. DEPOSIT & REFUND POLICY Family camp weekend reservations require payment-in-full at time of reservation. Week reservations require a $200 deposit and the balance is due no later than June 2010. Cancellations within 60 days of scheduled arrival will result in only a 50% refund unless a substitute family fills the cabin. Cancellations more than 60 days prior to scheduled arrival will receive a 100% refund, less a $100 cancellation fee. Credit card authorization is included on the application if you would like to charge your family camp vacation.
