Be a part of the Skylake Magic

Thank you for your interest in summer employment at Skylake Yosemite Camp!

Skylake has been a magical tradition for over 65 years and has provided campers and staff alike with memories, friends, and experiences that last a lifetime. The job of a camp counselor is quite possibly the most rewarding while also the hardest jobs you will ever have. The demands are high but the rewards are equally as high!

Skylake staff are hired based on their ability to be proper role models and who possess positive leadership skills. Skylake staff are enthusiastic and responsible individuals with great communication skills who care about children and the importance of summer camp. We are interested in employees who are motivated in carrying on our Skylake Magic and who will stay true to Skylake’s traditions.

Skylake Yosemite Camp has a multitude of activities and programs of which we are looking for qualified staff to lead our campers both through instruction and team play. We are looking for those with skills in activities such as ropes course, mountain biking, ceramics, lifeguarding, ski boat drivers, swimming instruction, guitar, horseback riding, or tennis to name a few.

Skylake annually employs 56 Camp Counselors, 5 Trips Staff, 6 Administrative Staff, 3 Cooks, 12 Kitchen Assistants, 3 Housekeepers, and a Nurse on-site 24 hours a day. All of the counselors must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a four year university and have current certifications in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding. Staff are recruited domestically but we also hire from abroad through such agencies as Camp America and CCUSA. Counselors are not permitted to have any tattoo that is visible while wearing a bathing suit or any body piercing (except for ears).

Please read through our staff pages to determine if Skylake is the right fit for you. We’re always available to answer questions at staff@skylake.com or by phone at 530-214-8450.
