View Map and driving directions
Sierra National Forest -The camp is located in the
middle of the Sierra National Forest among thousands of acres.
The mountains provide miles of horseback trails, mountain bike
terrain along with day and overnight hiking opportunities.
Private waterfront - Bass Lake is a beautiful five mile
long alpine lake surrounded by Ponderosa Pines. Skylake has a
very large private dock that is home to all of our lakefront
activities and swimming. Skylake’s equipment at the lake
includes kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, funyaks, and ski boats.
Cabins -Campers at Skylake are housed in 32 small cabins.
Each cabin has four sets of bunk beds housing seven campers and
one staff member. The girl’s side of camp has cabins named for
trees such as Cedar, Lupine, White Pine and Joshua. The boy’s
side of camp has cabins named for California Indian tribes such
as Yokut, Miwok, Pomo, and Shasta.
Lodge -The main lodge at Skylake is 6500 square feet. In
addition to the large dining room, there is the recreation room,
trading post, ceramics shop, and video room contained in the
lodge. The lakeside porch running the entire length of the lodge
building has a magnificent view down to Bass Lake and to the
surrounding mountains.
Shower houses -There are four separate shower houses in
camp: two on the boy’s side of camp and two on the girl’s side
of camp. Each shower house has private showers, sinks, and
toilets that exceed all ACA standards.
Health Center - Located adjacent to the lodge is the Skylake
health center. In addition to the nurses living quarters the
health center contains a front examination room and two rooms for
all campers that need to spend the night.
Craft Shop - The wildly colorful paint job on the interior of
the craft shop immediately alerts all visitors to the unfettered
freedom provided the campers in exploring their artistic
talents.
Campfire Circle -The stage, fire pit, and bench seating
is the location of our nightly campfires where the magic of camp
is truly felt. Songs, skits, and plays are the nightly fare.
Athletic Facilities -The climbing wall, tennis courts,
basketball court, sand volleyball courts, tetherball, ropes
course, riding ring, ball field, and the great outdoors are the
setting for active, fun and unforgettable days at summer
camp.
